Not saying that is what is happening, just that it is possible. Since you have to enter your sail and sign to play and there are no laws governing casino's at sea, they could easily be throttling someone with playing habits such as mine. Then it just dried up, slots have not done that for me in the last 3 cruises. It seemed to me like they were programmed to pay out on night one. Seems like in the last two years, I cannot win anything on the slots, but a few years ago, it was common place that on the first night of the cruise I would play for a few minutes, make $50 or so in my first few pulls and then I would take my winnings and walk, never returning to the casino that cruise.
